Dear Members of Congress & President Obama:

Our immigration system is broken, and you have the opportunity to fix it. Immigrants contribute work, ideas, love, and taxes to this region. We call on you to support immigrant families with real and just reform that:

1. Includes a path to full citizenship for the eleven million undocumented immigrants in this country;
2. Preserves and prioritizes family unity, by including same-sex couples and preserving existing family categories;
3. Protects low-wage workers;
4. Ensures humane enforcement of immigration laws, including due process rights and reforms to immigration detention; and
5. Lifts the one-year filing deadline for asylum.

We need your leadership to allow immigrant families to stay together and to enable them to contribute even more to their communities and our economy. Your constituents need you to support immigration reform that is real, comprehensive, and humane and that includes LGBTQ families and individuals!

Nuestro sistema migratorio está roto, y usted tiene la oportunidad de arreglarlo. Los inmigrantes contribuyen su trabajo, ideas, amor, e impuestos a esta región. Exigimos que usted apoye a familias inmigrantes con una reforma migratoria verdadera y justa que

2. Priorice la protección de las familias, incluyendo para parejas del mismo sexo y preservando las categorías actuales;
3. Proteja los trabajadores de bajos ingresos;
4. Asegure la implementación humanitaria de las leyes de inmigración, que de a las personas el derecho a tener un proceso adecuado y reforme la detención migratoria; y
5. Elimine el limite de 1 año.

Necesitamos su liderazgo para permitir que las familias inmigrantes se mantengan juntas y para que puedan contribuir aún más a nuestras comunidades y nuestra economía. Los habitantes de su distrito necesitan que usted apoye una reforma migratoria verdadera, integral, y humana, y que incluya las familias e individuos LGBTQ!
