Juana Alvarez, Immigrant Mother & Community Leader

I am an immigrant mother of four, a resident of Bushwick, Brooklyn.juana.jpg

For the last ten years I have been fighting alongside people in my community to improve wages and working conditions. Too many people are working jobs that simply don't pay enough to support a family in a city like New York. That's why I am organizing with others to win a higher minimum wage for New York City residents, so that we can stay in our communities and live with dignity.
