First We Organized, Then We Voted, Now We Demand Action

On April 10, 2013, immigrant families from across the United States will descend on Washington D.C. in force to send a message to Congress and the President that we need immigration reform now.

Already, Make the Road New York and hundreds of groups nationwide are urging lawmakers to support comprehensive reform that includes a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in our country. Together, on April 10th, we will bring this pressure to a head with a national mobilization.

We need your voice to win. Sign up today to march with us on Wednesday, April 10

2013 represents our best opportunity in many years to win immigration reform. (Be sure to check out Obama's immigration speech this afternoon.) In 2010, members of MRNY and our allies filled the National Mall to pressure Congress and President Obama to pass immigration reform and the DREAM Act. Yet partisan fights have continually blocked our ability to achieve meaningful improvements for our immigrant communities.

Three years later, we are a world closer to achieving our goals. Because Latinos demonstrated their enormous political force during last November's election we now have serious bipartisan support for immigration reform. (Read more in our joint op-ed with Congressman Joe Crowley in Monday's Daily News.)

However, the type of reforms lawmakers will ultimately make is up to you. We need your voice in this debate to ensure that our representatives and President Obama take measures that are welcoming rather than punitive and which recognize the important contributions immigrant families, workers and students make to the character, prosperity and humanity of the Unites States. Join us April 10!
